St Lucia South Africa has always been a special place for us. We came for our first dates in the early days of meeting and got married here a few years later. The abundance of wildlife, the laid-back lifestyle and the hidden paradise feel meant we knew we wanted to raise our children here and our living our personal dreaming do just that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Lucia\u2019s bio:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

St Lucia South Africa is nestled within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park <\/a>in KwaZulu Natal. It is in the heart of Zululand and on the prominent \u2018Elephant Coast\u2019, a true hidden gem within South Africa. With only around 400 permanent residents in the town, welcoming explorers and visitors are what we do best!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Lucia is a small town, with the main street providing an eclectic mix of small independent shops and restaurants interspersed with franchised establishments offering great food, groceries, and gifts all with a relaxed vibe that South Africans are renowned for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is an abundance of wildlife in and around the town. As well as the resident hippos (LINK HIPPO) that walk the streets at night there are warthog, mongooses and monkeys who casually graze on the lawns, sprint around the streets, and jump on the roofs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

St Lucia is on the north coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Durban is the nearest international airport, approximately 200km away. Driving from Durban airport to St Lucia will take you around three hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best time to visit: <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

St Lucia has a sub-tropical climate which means it has great weather all year round. In summer temperatures can reach 35 degrees + and we have one of the mildest winter seasons in the whole of South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some activities are season dependent such as whale watching or turtle tours. Whenever you decide to visit, there is plenty on offer to keep you and your family entertained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a whole host of things to see and do, from croc and hippo boat cruises to whale watching (June to November) and Turtle Tours (November to March).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
